December 2025
It feels like it is time for me to look back on my story with Trail Therapy and the first time of soultrailsMTB.com. Hard to believe that it is several years already!
In winter 2022, I came across Scottish Cycling‘s Trail Therapy film Recovery and the article at pinkbike.com and felt deeply moved.
Through many years I experienced the feeling of being connected and close to myself while out riding. For me, mountain biking also has a great element of friendship and support when riding with your buddies.
It started as my personal dream and with a strong feeling of being called. My wife and I planned to move to Tromsø by end of 2023, and establishing a Trail Therapy project there was the obvious way to go for me. I got in touch with Christine at Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) and we figured out how I could get a solid foundation. I completed a four day training as a Trail Therapy Practitioner in October 2024 near Perth in Scotland, with the wonderful Paul as a teacher of a small group (you can see him in the film Recovery).
Soon after settling in Tromsø I started to build a network of like-minded people. Thank you all for the openness, interest, and support so far! Community and connection are at the heart of the project, so I look forward very much for more people to join. You may have a professional background, like therapist or outdoor guide, or you just feel intrigued like me - I like to hear your thoughts and ideas.
At this point I want to give a shout out to Dimitris in Scotland. We met at the Practitioner Training, and now he runs Boundless Trails - a huge inspiration and very encouraging to witness.
These last years have been dynamic, emotional and full of change for me. I ended a 25 year career in the 3D printing industry, we moved country and focus on our professions as healers and therapists for Shiatsu and energy treatments.

I am a "bike person" from very little on and ride mountain bikes since the late 80s. Besides, I love to design and build up bikes, and I learned quite a bit over the years. I found that 3D printing is a great tool to realize ideas around bike parts and ergonomics.
